Are you using content marketing in your business?
Whether you have a product or service-based business, content marketing offers a unique opportunity for you to build trust with your prospective clients (your avatar). It helps them to better know, like and trust you. When you publish what is informative and relevant to your avatar it also sets you up as an “authority” in your industry. You know, the go-to person for information. Want to become that person in your industry?
The way content marketing works is by building trust with prospective clients while at the same time informing them about your products and services. In a nutshell, you need to deliver “value” to your prospects. Give them something that will help them, such as specific industry information, tools they can use or solve a common problem that they have. Just learning about a tool is enough for the prospective client to feel that you have added value.
The basic structure of content marketing involves having a sales funnel set up and gently nudging each prospect along it until they eventually buy from you. This process will vary greatly depending on if you are selling products or services, your type of industry and whether you are doing most of this process online or offline. Either way, the process is the same: You use content to inform and create awareness of your product or service, use the engagement to move the prospects along the sales funnel to eventually become paying customers.
